How I Got back my points

In response to above query I would like to inform that I first went all they way to their CEO and still no luck. Eventually I hired a Lawyer, who wrote to their Corporate Counsel in NYC and indicated a possible Class Action Lawsuit, since there were several others like me who lost their points. They reversed their position thereafter. I was told that as of February 1, 2009, they have changed their policy and are not wiping out points for cancelled cards any more.

Points Restored

Am. Ex. has confirmed that they have transferred the points to their Partner Airlines and Hotels, as selected by me. There are still some open issues, like a full accounting and credit of points earned, but possibly not posted to my account. Overall, we accomplished what we set out to do.

I thank every one who has supported me in my endeavour to get back my points. Thanks once again.

They did the same to me.. always current on my AMEX bills but one unrelated ding on my credit file and they terminated my card and took all my points.. I'll be spreading the word.

Thanks for writing to me. Actually my lawyer wrote to their legal counsel threatening Class Action and verbally they have agreed to re-instate my points. Let’s see. Once it’s done, I will post the update in the Blog.

Talked to another person, who had to do the same. I think they are only reacting to it when a legal action is imminent. Though their Executive Office person that I have been talking to is telling me that as of February 2009, they are changing their policy and not taking away, peoples points. Stay in touch.

American Express Took Away My Points

A lawsuit is being planned against American Express, for Bad Faith, Negligence and possible Class Action, for their tactics of wiping about Membership Rewards Points of card holders.
They took away almost 1.8 million of my points, even though I have never been late and have always paid my bills in full. All because I did not give them my consent to audit last 4 years of my tax returns, for no apparent reason. 
Through this blog, I am inviting Attorneys interested in representing me individually or in Class Action and also other card holders who had their points revoked and/or re-instated after being revoked.
Please spread the word to all your contacts in the US and overseas, Networking Sites (Twitter, Face Book, Orkut, Linked in, etc.), Newspapers, Magazines, TV & Radio Stations, Regulators, Consumer Protection Agencies, Lobbyists, Law Professors, etc..
